Are you aged between 12 and 21 years old*? We are now taking applications from up and coming young magicians to be part of the Future Magicians 2024 programme!

To register your interest please complete this form.

Over the last two years we’ve paired five young magicians with a mentor, who guided them towards presenting a short act in the MagicFest programme. After 8 weeks of training, BBC News appearances, and press articles, the results were fantastic, as our young magicians presented a very entertaining shows at the Scottish Storytelling Centre in December 2022 and 2023.

If you are interested in being part of the 2024 programme, please email to register your interest. We are only able to take five young magicians on this course. If we are oversubscribed we’ll stay in touch and confirm attendance by 30 October 2023.

*We’ll consider applications for slightly younger magicians if they can demonstrate their experience.

Come see the magic stars of the future!

Future Magicians, returning for a second year, is a new MagicFest programme designed to assist young magicians with their performance development.

Over the course of eight weeks, up to four student magicians will receive mentorship, guiding them to create a high-quality act lasting around 8 minutes prior to the public performance of their work at MagicFest at the end of December!

Magicians often work in isolation, with knowledge passed down in 1-on-1 mentorship models. There are no further education courses in Scotland for students wishing to develop their art and interact, face to face, with other student practitioners.

This is another step in our attempts to create high-quality in-person and virtual resources for student magicians who wish to 1) be part of a larger learning community, 2) understand and benefit from the wider theatrical arts, and, 3) progress to a more proficient level of performance
