Building on the success of our pilot years in 2022 and 2023, Future Magicians is now evolving to its next stage — expanding mentorship, resources, and opportunities for young magicians aged 12–18.

This pioneering programme supports Scotland’s emerging magic talent through professional guidance, creative collaboration, and performance experience at MagicFest. Our vision is to build a thriving learning community for young magicians — connecting them with the wider theatrical arts, developing both their craft and confidence, and helping them reach new levels of performance.

Featured on BBC Scotland, ITV, and The Guardian, Future Magicians has already shown the power of mentorship to inspire and empower.

We’re now seeking partners, mentors, and funders to help us grow the next generation of magicians — and notes of interest from young people eager to take part.

MORE ABOUT FUTURE MAGICIANS

Outside of London, there are no in-person resources for young people aged 12 and over interested in magic performance. Our mentorship has supported ten young magicians so far, but we aim to reach many more. We want to offer a complete journey, starting from our introductory workshops for children aged 7, through to young adults, whom we hope to provide with performance opportunities at the festival.

Our goal is to create a suite of high-quality in-person and virtual resources for student magicians who want to 1) join a larger learning community, 2) explore and benefit from the wider theatrical arts, and 3) advance to a higher level of performance.
